What is THC in port charges?
Terminal Handling Charges are fees levied by the port terminal for loading/unloading and moving containers. They are separate from ocean freight.
What is demurrage vs detention?
Demurrage is the charge for keeping a container inside the port terminal beyond the free period. Detention is for keeping it outside at your premises. Both can be ₹3,000–₹8,000/day.
How do I avoid demurrage charges?
