FAQ

When does seller's responsibility end under FOB?

Under FOB, seller's responsibility ends when goods pass the ship's rail at the named port of shipment. After that, the buyer bears all costs and risks.

Should I quote FOB or CIF to foreign buyers?

FOB is simpler for the seller. However, some buyers prefer CIF as it gives a single landed price. Offering both builds credibility.

What documents are needed for FOB export clearance?

Shipping Bill, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, L/C or PO, and any product-specific certificates (phytosanitary, quality inspection).
