What are KRAs?
Key Result Areas (KRAs) are the primary responsibilities and objectives for a role. Performance against KRAs is the basis for annual appraisals, promotions and salary hikes.
What is a good performance rating?
A score of 3.5/5 or above typically qualifies for a salary hike. Scores above 4.0 warrant above-average hikes and fast-track promotion consideration.
How should performance appraisal weights be set?
Weights should reflect the strategic importance of each KRA for the role. Typically 40–50% for core deliverables, 20–30% for quality, 15–25% for behavioural competencies.
