What is inventory carrying cost?

Inventory carrying cost is the cost of holding stock and includes capital cost, storage, insurance, obsolescence and damage. Benchmark is 20–30% of inventory value per year (≈2% per month).

What is a pallet?

A standard pallet is 40×48 inches (1.2×1.0 m). A typical warehouse aisle-racking stores 100–150 pallets per 1,000 sq ft at single depth. Double-deep racking improves density.
