FAQ

What is volume weight (dimensional weight)?

Volume weight = (length × width × height in cm) ÷ 5000 for air freight, ÷ 4000 for courier. Carrier charges whichever is higher — actual or volume weight.

What is the cheapest freight mode in India?

Rail is the cheapest for bulk cargo over long distances (>500km). Road is most flexible for door-to-door. Air is fastest but 10–20× the cost of road freight.

How is road freight rate calculated in India?

Road freight rates in India are typically quoted per tonne per km or as a flat vehicle hire rate. Rates vary by vehicle type, route, fuel prices and seasonal demand.
