FAQ

How is timber volume calculated in CFT?

Volume (CFT) = length (ft) × width (ft) × thickness (ft). For a 7 ft × 4 inch × 2 inch piece: 7 × (4/12) × (2/12) = 0.389 CFT.

What is the price of teak wood in India?

Teak (Sagwan) typically costs ₹3,000–6,000 per CFT depending on grade and region; premium Burma teak can go up to ₹8,000–12,000 per CFT.

Why add 15% wastage for timber?

Sawing, planning, defect removal and joint cutting typically waste 10–20% of rough timber volume; 15% is a standard allowance for carpentry work.
