NABH expects SOPs for all critical patient care and support processes — typically 150–300 SOPs for a full hospital, categorised by department.
Who should approve hospital SOPs?
Clinical SOPs are approved by the Medical Director or department head; administrative SOPs by the CEO or COO. All SOPs must be version-controlled and review-dated.
How often should hospital SOPs be reviewed?
At least annually, or whenever there is a significant change in process, equipment, regulation or adverse event related to the procedure.
