What is a good ALOS for an Indian hospital?
For a multispecialty hospital, 3–5 days is typical; higher for tertiary/complex cases and lower for surgical day-care. National average is around 4–5 days.
What is an ideal BOR?
Around 80–85% is widely considered optimal — efficient without creating capacity pressure. Consistently above 90% risks quality and safety.
What does BTO measure?
Bed Turnover tells you how many patients are admitted per bed per month; higher values indicate more efficient bed utilisation.
