Roughly, kW = monthly units ÷ 120, since 1 kW generates about 120 units a month in much of India.
How much roof area is needed?
About 100 sq ft of shadow-free roof per kW of solar capacity.
How is payback calculated?
Payback (years) = system cost ÷ annual bill savings. Subsidies, where applicable, shorten this further.
